An open letter to partners, sponsors, and allies of Mr. Gay Sweden
To everyone who has ever put their name beside a cause they believed in,
Mr. Gay Sweden is back. After six years of silence, the competition returns in 2026 with a rebuilt format, a clear purpose, and a community that has spent those six years growing and waiting for a national platform to catch up with where it actually is.
We are writing because what we are building requires partners who are serious about what LGBTQI visibility means right now. Not in the abstract. Right now, in Sweden, in 2026.
Sweden still has not banned conversion therapy. Trans healthcare for young people has become a political argument when it belongs in a doctor's office. Across Europe, governments are testing how much they can quietly take back before anyone pushes back hard enough. This is the context in which Mr. Gay Sweden is returning. Standing beside this platform is a public statement. We think that matters, and we think the right partners think so too.
The titleholder carries their cause, and their partners, through a full year. Seven challenges, Pride events, media appearances, an advocacy campaign they build themselves, and ultimately international representation at Mr. Gay Europe 2027, with all travel and accommodation covered. Partnership with Mr. Gay Sweden is not a logo at the finale. It is presence across the entire year.
That presence takes different shapes and we are open to all of them. Financial support funds the competition directly, from production and logistics to contestant preparation. In-kind contributions, whether venues, services, products, or expertise, become part of how the competition is built and experienced. Content partnerships create campaigns and editorial that reach both our audiences with genuine purpose. Event partnerships put you in the room at the moments that count, the challenges, the community activations, and the night we crown someone who is about to represent Sweden on a European stage.
We are not looking for the biggest names or the deepest pockets. We are looking for organisations, brands, and individuals who are already doing serious work in or alongside Sweden's LGBTQI community and want a platform that reflects that commitment out loud.
