Accessibility

We want everyone to be able to use mrgaysweden.se, without barriers.

Last updated: 6 May 2026

Our commitment

Mr Gay Sweden strives to be accessible to everyone, regardless of ability, language, age or technology. We follow WCAG 2.2 level AA and continuously improve the experience.

The accessibility toolbar

An accessibility button sits inside the menu on every page. From there you can turn on reading mode, paragraph focus, a dyslexia-friendly font, adjust line and letter spacing, and pick a light, dark or sepia reading theme. There is also an ADHD-friendly Bionic Reading mode: it bolds the first part of each word so the brain can anchor faster and skip less, which helps maintain focus.

What we do

The site is built with semantic HTML, works with keyboard navigation, has visible focus rings, alt text on meaningful images, strong contrast in both light and dark themes, a responsive layout for all screens, and text that scales to at least 200% without losing content.

Screen readers and assistive tech

The site is tested with modern screen readers (VoiceOver, NVDA) and major browsers. ARIA attributes are used where appropriate, and forms have proper labels and error messages.

Known limitations

Some embedded third-party services (e.g. social media embeds) may have accessibility issues outside our control. We're working to replace or complement them where possible.

Help us improve

Did you find an accessibility issue? Email info@mrgaysweden.se with a description, the page URL and which assistive tool you're using. We aim to respond within 5 working days.

Standards we follow

Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 level AA and EN 301 549. The site is also covered by the Swedish Act (2018:1937) on accessibility of digital public services where applicable.
