Please read these terms carefully before applying to Mr Gay Sweden.

1. Acceptance of these terms

By applying to Mr Gay Sweden you confirm that you have read, understood and accept these terms. The terms form a legally binding agreement between you and the Mr Gay Sweden organisation.

2. Eligibility

Applicants must be at least 18 years old, identify as a man, be registered in Sweden, belong to the LGBTQI community, maintain a positive public profile during the competition, ideally speak both Swedish and English (not required) and be engaged in advocacy and community work.

3. Competition rules

Participants are expected to attend all scheduled events, challenges and activities. Unexcused absence may lead to disqualification. All participants must conduct themselves professionally and in line with the values of inclusion, authenticity and love that Mr Gay Sweden stands for.

4. Media and publicity rights

By participating you grant Mr Gay Sweden the right to use your name, image, voice and biography in all media for marketing related to the competition, including photos, videos, interviews and social media content.

5. Code of conduct

Participants must behave appropriately at all times. Any form of discrimination, harassment, violence or behaviour that contradicts the values of the LGBTQI community will lead to immediate disqualification. Participants are expected to be positive role models during and after the competition.

6. Confidentiality

Certain parts of the competition, including judging criteria, internal operations and behind-the-scenes information, are confidential. Participants undertake not to share such information with third parties without written approval.

7. Prize and responsibilities

The winner of Mr Gay Sweden takes on the responsibility of representing Sweden and the LGBTQI community with dignity. This includes attending official events and living up to the expectations placed on a titleholder.

8. Participation agreement on selection

Applicants who are selected to take part in the competition will be asked to sign a separate written participation agreement before any public announcement is made. The agreement confirms these terms and sets out specific commitments around participation, attendance, media rights, confidentiality, insurance and representation. It will be drawn up in line with the rules that apply to competitions of this kind in Sweden and, where applicable, the requirements of Mr Gay Europe / Mr Gay World. Failing to sign the agreement within the given timeframe means forfeiting the place.

9. Intellectual property

All content created during the competition, performances, speeches and creative works, may be used by Mr Gay Sweden for marketing and educational purposes. Participants keep the rights to their own works but grant the organisation a right of use.

10. Limitation of liability

Mr Gay Sweden, its organisers, sponsors and partners are not liable for damages or losses that may arise during participation. Participants take part at their own risk and are recommended to obtain appropriate insurance.

11. Changes to the terms

Mr Gay Sweden reserves the right to change these terms. Participants will be notified of changes, continued participation constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by Swedish law. Disputes arising from participation in Mr Gay Sweden are settled by Swedish courts in accordance with Swedish law.
